Download a torrent
Never downloaded a torrent before? I'll walk you through choosing a client, opening the torrent and finding your files when it finishes.
Choose a client
You need a BitTorrent client. qBittorrent is a straightforward choice on Windows, Linux and macOS; Deluge and Transmission are alternatives. On Android, LibreTorrent is another option. Use the project's own download page to choose the build for your system.
Now for the download
- Install and open your client. On the release page, choose the .torrent file or the magnet link. A .torrent contains metadata, not the game itself.
- Open the .torrent in the client, or use Add torrent link to paste the magnet. For a magnet, wait for the file list to arrive.
- Choose the destination folder, check the available disk space and select the needed files. For a split archive, keep all required parts selected.
- Start the download and wait for 100% plus any verification to finish. Open the destination folder and follow the release's installation instructions.
- Leaving the torrent active after completion shares it with others: this is seeding. Follow your tracker's ratio and seeding rules if it has them.
If it stalls
Check the seed count, tracker messages, network access and disk space. Without a peer holding the missing pieces, a torrent cannot finish. If files were moved or partially downloaded, point the client to their folder and use Force recheck before downloading again.
