LAN over the internet
Operating systems: Windows / Linux / macOS. Radmin VPN: Windows. ZeroTier: Windows, Linux and macOS.
Playing LAN games over the internet
Radmin VPN or ZeroTier can connect players through a virtual network. The game still needs a working LAN mode; this does not add multiplayer to a single-player game.
- Everyone installs the same network tool and joins the same private network. Radmin VPN is for Windows; check ZeroTier's platform support for other systems.
- One player hosts a LAN session. The others join it, using the host's virtual IP if automatic discovery does not work.
- Use compatible game versions. Allow the game through the firewall only as needed, and do not share network access with strangers.
