Epic Games / EOS
Operating systems: Windows / Linux / macOS. Epic Online Services emulators: Nemirtingas, nEOS and Goldberg. Linux and macOS are covered by the Nemirtingas guide.
Before starting
Close the game, back up its original DLLs, executable and saves, and show file extensions. Match the game's architecture, not just your Windows version: x86 for a 32-bit game, x64 for a 64-bit game. Install one emulator for each API at a time. To undo a change, remove only the files you added and restore your backups.
Epic Online Services · Nemirtingas
Emulates the EOS API on Windows, Linux and macOS. Configuration belongs beside the real game executable, which may differ from the launcher at the root of the installation.
- Find and back up EOSSDK-Win32-Shipping.dll / EOSSDK-Win64-Shipping.dll, libEOSSDK-Linux-Shipping.so or libEOSSDK-Mac-Shipping.dylib. Replace it with the emulator matching the OS and architecture.
- Place the package's JSON settings beside the actual game executable. Fill in appid, username, epicid and language using the included example. AppName and CatalogNamespace can be found in .egstore/*.mancpn.
- Use the complete Epic launch parameters shown in the author's How To, with values matching the JSON. If IDs are missing, enable the package's DEBUG logging and inspect its log. Shift+F3 opens the overlay when enabled.
Epic Online Services · nEOS
An older EOS emulator by infogram, with optional proxy support. Compatibility depends on the EOS SDK revision used by the game.
- Back up the original EOSSDK library, then copy the matching nEOS replacement and nEOS.ini into its folder.
- Configure DLC entries in nEOS.ini from its example. The DLC AllOwned option or explicit IDs affect ownership responses; the game still needs the DLC files. Read the log to identify IDs requested by the game.
- Launch the game. If you deliberately use proxy mode, retain the original DLL under the _o name described by the package, or configure ProxyFilename. Do not use proxy mode and pure replacement instructions interchangeably.
Epic Online Services · Goldberg
Goldberg's early EOS emulator, separate from Goldberg Steam. Its author points to Nemirtingas for games that do not work with it.
- Extract the EOS archive, not the Steam emulator. Identify the EOSSDK file matching your game's architecture, back up the game's original, and replace only that corresponding library.
- Use the settings and readme included with this EOS version before launching the game. Do not reuse Steam's steam_settings or a Nemirtingas JSON as if they were interchangeable.
