Koalageddon v1

Today I'm going to introduce Koalageddon v1 and show you how to use it.

Introduction

Koalageddon v1 installs into the store client and can then act on several games. Its wizard handles the integration. This is the original multi-platform project; it is now archived and recent client versions can be incompatible.

Do you need the DLC files?

An unlocker makes the game see the DLC as owned, but doesn't download its content. If the files are already included in the base game, unlocking can be enough. Otherwise, install the matching DLC files too; check the game's forum topic for its folder layout and version.

Now for the tutorial

These steps describe the v1 integration wizard. Start by checking the notices for your store client in the forum topic: this archived version can be blocked by recent clients.

  1. Download the v1 installer from the project, install it, then open the Koalageddon integration wizard.
  2. Close your games and store clients. In the wizard, select the platform to configure from the detected installations.
  3. Click Install platform integrations. Wait for the success report and check that it lists the platform you selected.
  4. Restart that client, then a supported game with its DLC files installed. The wizard integrates with the client, so you don't repeat a DLL replacement for every game.

Configuration and exclusions

Use Open config directory in the wizard to find Config.jsonc. Back it up, then edit only the settings explained by its comments for the platforms and games concerned. Close and restart the client after changes. Keep the JSON structure and avoid copying an entire config from another version.

How to remove it

  1. Close the games and clients, then reopen the integration wizard.
  2. Select each platform you configured and click Remove platform integrations. Check the removal report before uninstalling Koalageddon itself.
  3. Restart the client to confirm normal operation. If a client update made the integration incompatible, leave it removed and check the project's notices.
